Best Contact Form Solutions For Static Websites
Reading Time: 3 minutesThere’s no denying that static websites are never going out of style. These unique sites are a great way to quickly get a competition, launch a product or even your own website off the ground quickly and efficiently. It’s almost impossible to think about building a website nowadays without a contact form.
Static websites can be a great way of hosting a cheap and SEO friendly website or even a company micro site. There’s just one problem. How do you deal with the contact form? Depending on your use case for your static website different services will be preferable.
It can be quite daunting with the range of contact form software out there so in this blog post we review the major players in the contact form space. These services are geared towards form creation and management. So here we’ll be going through the good and the bad of the different options available in these services.

#1 Formspree – Contact form specific solution
Formspree is a simple application that is aimed specifically towards contact forms. Even though it does contact forms well, that is mainly all it does so only really expect to use it for that usecase. Formspree was the first service I came across when looking for solutions but that doesn’t mean that it is the best solution for you.
Advantages:
- Formspree is a good general purpose solution for contact forms
- A number of integrations from their service
- CLI and React library
- Very clear and concise UI
Disadvantages:
- Low submission archive on free tier
- Low file storage options

#2 Cognito Forms – Wider ranging form solution
Cognito forms has a wider feature set than Formspree that can be slightly more confusing to understand. Though very powerful and it’s not obvious by the website, also most of its best features are only available in the paid plans. However they do allow for free tier storage but depending on your use case would run out rather quickly.
Advantages:
- Storage on free tier
- Form builders
- Submission limits
- Payment Forms
Disadvantages:
- Credit card info required on free tier
- Dated form design templates
- Cited UX and email notification issues on Trust Pilot

#3 Formstack – Salesforce integrated contact form solution
Formstack has a similar offering to cognito forms but has a much higher price point. Their main USP is their integration with Salesforce. Their website also appears to require a bit of a learning curve to learn the UI, however that may not be a bad thing if you’re willing to invest the time into it.
Advantages:
- Salesforce integration
- Form themes
- Payment forms
Disadvantages:
- High price point
- No free tier
- Confusing website
- Learning Curve

#4 ZOHO Forms – CRM related form solution
ZOHO is actually a CRM company with a form add on. So if you’re already with ZOHO you may find the integration more simple to manage. However, they do have other integrations so it’s worth checking if their integrations fit your requirements.
Advantages:
- UTM Sources (Facebook/LinkedIn/Twitter)
- Payment Forms
- Form templates
Disadvantages:
- “Powered by Zoho” in free tier form
- User cap on plans
Thanks for reading and as always please let us know in the comments your experiences with these or contact form solutions.
Greetings,
I’m not the best speller but I see the word “accidently” is spelled incorrectly on your website. In the past I’ve used a service like SpellAlerts.com or SiteChecker.com to help keep mistakes off of my websites.

Hi Maria
Thank you for your comment. We’ve just swept through and made sure there are no other spelling mistakes on the site.
All the best,
Dom
